Dr Sam Rodgers MBBS, MRCGPChief Medical Officer
What is an autoantibody test?
Our autoantibody test investigates chronic (long-term) progressive arthritis-type symptoms and unexplained fevers, fatigue, muscle weakness, and rashes.
What are auto-immune disorders?
Autoimmune conditions are where your immune system attacks the body's tissues as if they were harmful and can cause inflammation and tissue damage. They include Addison's disease, haemolytic anaemia, diabetes mellitus type 1, Graves disease, Hashimoto's thyroiditis, myasthenia gravis, chronic hepatitis, and autoimmune infertility. These conditions can affect your adrenal glands, red blood cells, pancreas, thyroid, muscle receptors, liver, sperm, and ovaries.
Genetic factors may play a role in developing autoimmune conditions, and women are more frequently affected than men.
What can I learn from this test?
Our screening test helps you identify and distinguish between different autoimmune disorders and monitor autoimmune disease progression.
